Die aktive Zeit der Zahnärzte des Djemaa El Fna ist zwar schon Lage vorbei, man findet sie aber immer noch auf dem zentralen „Platz der Gehenkten“ in Marrakesch. Seit den Siebziger Jahren sind sie nur noch eine Touristen-Attraktion. In den Zwanziger und Dreißiger Jahren hingegen, wurden hier noch täglich Zähne gezogen. 

Ein Tuch oder Holzstück mit zehntausenden Zähnen, ausgebreitet vom dem „Zahnarzt“, erinnert an diese Zeit. Sie sind ein beliebtes Fotomotiv.
